Keep the Peace (Keeper ex Peace of Mind, by Wild Rampage) confirmed her outstanding promise with a brilliant fresh-up victory in Saturday’s Gr.3 Desert Gold Stakes (1600m) at Trentham Gardens.
Keep the Peace, who is prepared by Shaun Ritchie at Cambridge, was having her first start since going down narrowly to Katie Lee in the New Zealand 1000 Guineas-Gr.1 at Riccarton Park at the beginning of November.
Ritchie confirmed after the race that the New Zealand Oaks-Gr.1 (2400m) was on the agenda for the filly who has never finished further back than second in five raceday outings.
Keeper has had some excellent three-year-olds this season
Keep the Peace becomes the 12th individual black type winner for her sire, Keeper, the son of Danehill who stands at Cambridge Stud. Keeper has had some excellent three-year-olds this season. Apart from Keep the Peace, the stallion has also been represented by St Germaine (Gold Trail Stakes-Gr.3, 2nd Levin Classic-Gr.1) and Finderskeepers (2nd Avondale Guineas-Gr.2, 2nd Sarten Memorial-LR).
Keeper is currently the sire of three individual Group One winners – namely Linky Dink, Insouciant and Keepa Cruisin.
