Popi to add to Joy 'n' Fun

Singapore trainer Leslie Khoo will be hoping that the green and red silks of prolific winning owners, the Joy ‘n’ Fun Stable, can deliver him a winner in the S$75,000 Kranji Stakes C over 1000 metres on Sunday.

Khoo will start promising sprinter Popi Popi (NZ) (Ishiguru) for the owners whom were in the winner’s circle at last Sunday’s Kranji meeting, thanks to the victory of emerging superstar Super Easy (NZ) (Darci Brahma).

Third up after a spell, the three-year-old is likely to strip fitter after finishing fifth first up, and then a one-and-a-quarter-length second behind the gifted Distinction (NZ) (Brilliance).

“He’s at this stage a 1000m-1100m Polytrack specialist and that’s where I will keep him,” Leslie Khoo said. 

A winner of three races from just eight starts, Popi Popi (NZ) will be partnered by leading rider Joao Moreira.
