A veteran of just ten starts; the daughter of Thorn Park turned in a strong effort last start in finishing second in the A$70,000 VRC Jezabeel Handicap at Flemington behind promising Peter Moody-trained stayer Power O’Raylee (NZ) (Starcraft) and in front of the VRC Oaks placegetter Placement (NZ) (Savabeel).
“She has trained on very well,” Ballymore Stable’s Racing Manager Anthony Feroce said. “Mike [Moroney] is very happy with her.”
“It’s a big jump in class but being a mare and looking for a bit of distance and black-type we decided to give her a try.
“We will have a much better guide on her over the distance and at the class after the fact.”
Mythical (NZ) will face a competitive field that features Group Three Norman Robinson Stakes winner Hanks (Encosta De Lago) who will be taking on stakes class for the first time in almost a year.
Favourably weighted on the minimum of 54.5 kilograms, Mythical (NZ) will be partnered by champion rider Dwayne Dunn.
