Rangirangdoo (NZ) heads kiwi trio in Gr.1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m)
9:08 AM Friday Mar 05, 2010

The exciting NZ-bred galloper Rangirangdoo (NZ) (Pentire) is the short-priced favourite to score his first Gr.1 tick in Saturday’s Patinack Farm Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Warwick Farm.
Trained by Chris Waller, Rangirangdoo (NZ) is recommended to the challenge by a last start second to stablemate Danleigh in the Gr.2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on February 20. One start prior the eight-win son of Pentire proved too strong for the Gr.2 field in the STC Expressway Sakes (1200m).
Rangirangdoo (NZ) has been tested on two previous occasions at Gr.1 level, with his best result coming in the AJC Epsom Handicap (1600m) at Royal Randwick, where he was narrowly denied victory by Rock Kingdom.
Boosting the cause for a kiwi-bred victory in the Chipping Norton Stakes is the Gr.1 wining duo Roman Emperor (NZ) (Montjeu) and Vision and Power (NZ) (Carnegie).
Trained by Bart Cummings, Roman Emperor (NZ) earned his Gr.1 stripes in the AJC Derby last season, and has franked this elite level form as a four-year-old with a second place to Viewed in the Gr.1 Caulfield Cup at Caulfield during the spring.
Vision and Power (NZ) will shoot for his third Gr.1 success, with the Joseph Pride-trained galloper having claimed a magical elite level double in the George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill, and the Doncaster Handicap at Randwick during the autumn of 2009.
